In Kenya, the HIV AIDS disease is widespread, leaving over 1 million orphans in the country. This disease, along with the crippling poverty rate, contribute to the growing number of orphans without homes.
The vast consequences of AIDS cannot be ignored. Every day, children are suffering and dying in the conditions of the slums. They are dying without love, without help, and without the hope of Jesus Christ.
Even though millions of dollars from larger organizations flow into Kenya every year, the number of slums and orphans continues to grow. It is clear that these organizations do not meet the needs of orphans in a permanent way. Some organizations bring only clothing or only one bowl of food before leaving. However, these children need a permanent, loving family, long-term education, and discipleship so that they can grow as Christian men and women.
