Gethsemane International began in 2003 with the mission to "Raise Christian Men and Women Around the World" by following the Biblical model of family to create holistic healing for orphans. Our offices are headquartered in Knoxville, TN while our children's homes and Christian school are in Kenya, Africa.


Advocate Program Director

Location: Knoxville, TN

Type: Full-Time

Compensation: Missionary Support, raised by applicant

The successful applicant will manage our Advocate Program by recruiting and guiding volunteers passionate about Gethsemane as they raise awareness and support in locations throughout the United States.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage volunteers in long-distance locations

  • Guide, advise and encourage volunteers

  • Recruit volunteers to join the Advocate Program and build strong relationships with volunteers

  • Train volunteers to be representatives of Gethsemane

  • Communicate regularly in order to monitor and support volunteer activities

  • Expand the reach of Gethsemane's support base and increase awareness about Gethsemane

  • Report to Gethsemane's Director of Development

Skills & Specifications:

  • Passion to serve Christ and others

  • Strong understanding of Gethsemane's mission, message, and programs

  • Strong logic and problem solving skills

  • Ability to travel

  • Must be trustworthy with a high level of professional integrity

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher, Outlook)

  • An attitude which is described in Philippians 2:3-8

Education& Qualifications:

  • College Education with a 4-year degree, preferred

  • Master's degree, a plus
